  • Dickens Christmas Village at The Carnegie - December 1st - 21st - The collection is made up of hundreds of individual pieces that Ms. Brown has meticulously amassed since 1998, all sold by collectible figurine purveyor Department 56. Many of the figures were gifts from friends and family, she said, but the early days of her collecting began at Fligor’s department store, formerly located on North Water street in Edgartown, just down the street from the current exhibit
  • Holiday Dinner Party at Bettini - Thursday, December 5th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm - Cocktail hour, family style dinner and dessert.
  • Sixth Annual Aquinnah Artisans Holiday Fair - December 7th & 8th from 10:00am to 4:00pm - Celebrate the holiday spirit with handmade gifts! Gay Head Clay Pottery, wampum jewelry and art, native crafts, locally-designed clothing, crocheted snowflakes, knitted items, Aquinnah bottled clay, jewelry, candles, scallop shell lights, embroidered linens, ceramics and much more. Food, sweet treats and gifts from Orange Peel Bakery.
  • Wreath Making on the Farm - December 7th from 10:00am - 11:30AM - Get into the merry spirit at this hands-on workshop! We’ll start this workshop with a quick tutorial of different techniques for making your wreath using natural materials such as grapevine wreath bases and foraged greens. It will then be your turn to get to work creating your own wreath! We will provide a wreath base, a variety of evergreens, and one wreath frame per person. We will also provide wire and all decorating materials. Working with greens can be tough so we recommend bringing a pair of gardening gloves. This class is recommended for ages 10 & up
  • MVRHS Minnesingers Holiday Concerts - December 13th at 8:00pm & 14th at 4:00pm - A holiday tradition for 32 years during Christmas in Edgartown weekend. Ring in the holidays with the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Minnesingers as they fill the beautiful and historic Old Whaling Church with the sounds of the season
  • A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play - December 19th to 22nd at 7:00 pm - The beloved classic by Charles Dickens has been reimagined by Circuit Arts. A talented ensemble of local actors will perform a live radio-play version with caroling and wassailing aplenty. Celebrate the season with this heartwarming story about the power of redemption, kindness, and generosity. Not on the Island the week before Christmas? No worries! This production will be recorded, and broadcast on MVYRadio on Christmas Eve.
  • Christmas in Edgartown - December 12th - 15th - Traditionally one of New England’s most charming holiday weekend festivals, Edgartown over the holidays does not disappoint.  Over four decades in the making, the Edgartown Board of Trade is proud to keep the cheer here - showcasing the winter magic that can be found in everyone’s favorite summertime town.
  • A Vincent House Christmas - Saturdays in December from 12:00pm to 2:00pm - New this year, step into the festive spirit and charm of Christmas past in the Island’s oldest house. Expert guides share captivating stories of the Vineyard’s early rural Christmas celebrations, revealing how 19th-century traditions were shaped by works like Clement Clarke Moore’s A Visit from St. Nicholas. Experience the warmth and joy of family gatherings, acts of charity, and seasonal cheer.
  • Sharing the Trail: African American History Tour in Edgartown - December 12th - 15th from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at the Old Whaling Church - Celebrate the season with the African American Heritage Trail by exploring its amazing sites in Edgartown.  Join them for a walk honoring Edgartown’s legacy as a historic community. Don’t miss this historical walking tour, with stops at sites like the Courthouse, Federated Church, Edgartown Harbor and more. Learn where Frederick Douglass made his impassioned appeals for justice, hear the honored history of Judge Herbert E. Tucker, discover Nancy Michael’s blessing (or curses!) for whaling sailors, and envision Esther’s story from atop beautiful Memorial Wharf
  • Lighting of the Edgartown Lighthouse - December 13th from 5:30pm to 6:15pm - A time honored tradition, Edgartown’s version of a tree lighting is full of seaside village charm. Thank you to the MV Museum for the annual holiday lighting of the Edgartown Lighthouse, which takes place at 6pm sharp, with help from Martha’s Vineyard 4-H.
  • Interactive Screening of a Holiday Film - December 20th from 1:00pm to 3:30pm - Get into the holiday spirit at the West Tisbury Library! On Friday, Dec. 20th at 1 p.m., children and families are invited to join us for a free interactive screening of a fun holiday film about an elf named Buddy (running time 97 minutes). Each attendee will receive a bag of treats and props to be used at certain times throughout the movie. This event is free and open to the public. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a mature caregiver
  • Vineyard Artisans Holiday Fair - Saturday, December 21st from 10am to 4pm - Our last show of the season for those shoppers who needed a bit more time. You won’t be disappointed.
  • Kiki's Delivery Service Watch Party and Crafternoon - December 31st from 1:30pm to 4:00pm - Get a little crafty and cozy at the West Tisbury Library! On Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 1:30 p.m., children and families are invited to join us for a free screening of a Studio Ghibli movie about a witch and a cat. In this anime feature, 13-year-old Kiki moves to a seaside town with her talking cat, Jiji, to spend a year alone, in accordance with her village's tradition for witches in training
  • New Year’s Eve Dinner 2024 - Tuesday, December 31st from 5:00 PM–9:00 PM - Bettini Restaurant - Come and celebrate the arrival of the New Year with us at Bettini. Embrace the joy of the New Year with a delightful four-course dinner menu.
