First Friday - Friday, July 1 from 4:00pm to 11:00pm - First Friday is an outdoor event in Vineyard Haven, Martha's Vineyard. We have Music, Art, and Food, so stop by and check it out on the First Friday of each month June-October. Food trucks and vendors. Silent Disco at Owen Park: DJs DC Rose & Memphis 10 - Friday, July 1 from 9:00pm to 11:00pm - PathwaysARTS hosts music and dance at First Fridays in Vineyard Haven, each month for Summer and Fall 2022 (through October). Soul, funk and R&B, on the beach at Owen Park. The Silent Disco After Party features DJ Memphis 10 and DC ROSE of R&B Entertainment spinning their selections on two channels simultaneously! First Friday’s features food trucks, artist vendors from 4 to 6 p.m., live music from 4 to 9 p.m. and the Silent Disco After Party from 9 to 11 p.m.
West Tisbury Library's Summer Reading Kick Off -Saturday, July 2 from 11:00am to 2:00pm - Join us for a party to celebrate the start of summer reading! The Pinkletinks will be playing at 11 a.m. followed by ice cream, face paint, henna tattoos and more. This event is free and open to the public.
Island Chorus Holiday Concert - Saturday, July 2 from 8:00pm to 9:00pm - The Island Community Chorus presents its annual salute to the Fourth, a concert at the Tabernacle on the Camp Ground in Oak Bluffs. The Chorus and the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association are presenting this concert free of charge to honor director Peter Boak's 25 years of leading the choir.
Edgartown Fourth of July Parade - Monday, July 4 at 5:00pm - Quintessential parade through the center of Edgartown with bands, floats, classic cars and a sense of history! Start time is 5 p.m. at the Edgartown School and the parade will make its way down Main Street.
Fourth of July Firefly Night - Monday, July 4 from 8:00pm to 9:30pm - Come to Felix Neck for an alternative celebration. Spend the night in the quiet woodlands as we walk in search for everyone's favorite glowing insects, then gather by the fire for s'mores and stargazing. All ages welcome.
Fourth of July Fireworks - Monday, July 4 at 9:00pm - Arrive early for a good viewing spot.
Moth Night at the State Forest HQ - Wednesday, July 6 from 8:30pm to 10:30pm - Join moth expert Dr. Paul Goldstein and BiodiversityWorks staff for a nighttime program where we will attract and observe the moths around the state forest headquarters! We will teach participants to use the iNaturalist app to document wildlife across the Island. Island records on iNaturalist will be shared with the Martha’s Vineyard Atlas of Life project which catalogs the diverse flora and fauna of Martha's Vineyard. Attendees will get an up-close look at various insects and learn about their life history. All ages are welcome. Participants should bring a flashlight and be prepared for mosquitoes. The state forest headquarters is stationed on Sanderson Avenue, just south of the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. Drive into the High School and follow that road past the MV Sharks Baseball Field. The meeting area is located where the road begins to curve towards Barnes Road. This event is in collaboration with BiodiversityWorks and the Martha's Vineyard Atlas of Life Program. Registration is required for this free event. Rain Date: July 7, 2022.
Film Screening: Marcel the Shell With Shoes On - Thursday, July 7 at 7:00pm - In this feature adaptation of a beloved series of animated, mockumentary short films, Marcel is an adorable, one-inch-tall mollusk who lives with his grandmother, Connie, and their pet lint, Alan. After meeting a documentary filmmaker who sparks a new desire in him, Marcel begins an adventure filled with hope and danger, in an attempt to find his long-lost family. Screening will be introduced by Jenny Slate, co-writer and the voice of Marcel.
Tisbury Street Fair - Friday, July 8 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm - Back in 1971, Tisbury celebrated 300 years of history with a parade and its first street fair. Now the fair has its own history. The annual celebration draws 5,000 to 6,000 people who stroll Main Street from the Mansion House to the Green Room, browsing merchants' wares arrayed on sidewalk tables and noshing on a banquet of comfort food from restaurants and nonprofits. Parking and free bus transportation available from MVRHS.
Fluke for Luke Fishing Tournament - Saturday and Sunday July 8th and 9th - The Fifth Annual Fluke for Luke Fishing Tournament! Fluke for Luke is a memorial fishing tournament for our dear friend Luke Gurney who passed away June 20, 2016 in a boating accident. All are welcome.
SylvieBags 25th Anniversary Show - Saturday, July 9 from 10:00am to 2:00pm - SylvieBags is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a pop-up show featuring the best and rarest in vintage fabric accessories. Come speak with the artist about her designs, fabrics and creations.
Archaeology I.D. Day - Saturday, July 9 from 10:30am to 12:30pm - The West Tisbury Library will host its third annual Archaeology I.D. Day. All are invited! Please bring any artifacts you may have discovered for expert identification and discussion. The archaeologists present will be happy to answer any questions about the archaeology of Martha’s Vineyard and about New England in general. There will also be informative displays to be viewed. On hand for the event will be archaeologists Jill Bouck, Richard Burt, Bill Moody, James Richardson, and paleontologist Fred Hotchkiss. This event is free and open to the public.
Oak Bluffs Arts District Stroll - Saturday, July 9 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm - Dukes County Avenue Art District galleries and neighboring galleries will open their doors and invite the public for art, socializing and entertainment. The Arts District Stroll is a summer staple that floods Dukes County Avenue with everyone from curators to the simply curious. This year promises to be equally inspired, with many artists, artisans and gallery owners planning to unveil new bodies of work at the stroll. Galleries On Dukes County Ave. include: Alison Shaw Gallery, Periwinkle Studio, Lucinda Enamels and studioshop. With guest artisans: Stephanie Wolf Designs, Pease Quilts, Renee Balter, Jane Hero, Olivia Bell Textiles, Marissa & Peter O’Neil, Miner Night, Birdsong Ceramics, Nancy Noble Gardner Photography, Charles Shipway 3D Art, Scott Campbell. 15th Annual Native American Artisan Market - Saturday, July 16th from 11:00am to 4:00pm - The Aquinnah Cultural Center is pleased to announce the 15th Annual Native American Artisan Market! Join us as we highlight Native American artisans and their work. Rain date is Sunday, July 17.
Catboat Parade of Sail - Saturday, July 16 at 12:00pm - The annual Catboat Parade of Sail throughout Edgartown harbor returns. All catboats are welcome. Catboats will assemble in the down harbor area, to be led in a Catboat Parade of Sail. A few catboats originally designed and built by Manuel Schwarz Roberts will be among the vessels participating in the parade. The public is welcome to view, with suggested viewing points at Memorial Wharf, at Chappy Beach, Lighthouse Beach and Fuller Street Beach. Martha’s Vineyard Museum A-Z - July 1 – July 14 - Open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am to 4pm - For nearly one hundred years the Martha’s Vineyard Museum has collected, cared for, and shared artifacts, archives, and artworks that tell the story of this Island. In this exhibit, take a closer look at 26 facets of the Museum’s collection, including everything from bottles and calling cards to whaling tools and toys. Many of the objects in this exhibition have rarely or never been exhibited, and each has a fascinating story to tell.
Live Music: Featherstone Fridays with Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish - Fridays in July from 6:30pm to 8:00pm - On summertime Friday nights, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish take the stage of the Art Barn at Featherstone Center for the Arts. Enjoy music on the lawn while supporting artists and the non-profit arts center, Concert start times vary, according to sunset! Tickets: $20. 50% of proceeds from each performance are paid to the musicians. Tickets available at featherstoneart.org at 12 p.m. one week prior to each performance.
Carnegie Tours: Historic Tours of Edgartown - Tuesdays through Saturdays in July from 11:00am to 12:00pm - The Carnegie Heritage Center’s Historic Tour is a 60-minute guided walking tour of Edgartown. Learn about the Island’s rich maritime history– from the nineteenth century to the present – as told through the lens of Vineyard Preservation Trust’s historic landmarks and other important sites along Edgartown Harbor. The tour starts and ends at The Carnegie (58 North Water Street), winding through the harbor and main streets of Edgartown inviting guests to experience a host of historic properties closed to the general public. Stay and enjoy the dynamic “Living Landmark’ exhibit, the reading library and the heritage shop.
Chilmark Flea Market - Wednesdays and Saturdays in July from 9:00am to 2:00pm - The oldest outdoor flea market venue on the Island! The "Flea" has evolved into a market like no other. High quality handmade items from Vineyard artists and craftsmen, antiques, imports and vintage finds, including jewelry, clothing, art, food items and more.
West Tisbury Farmers Market - Saturdays in July from 9:00am to 12:00pm - Outdoor farmers market features locally grown produce and meat and locally made products. Restrooms and parking available. The market is dedicated to bringing local agricultural products to the people both living on and visiting the Island. The market was started in 1974 by a group of Island growers.

Summer Pony Rides - Saturdays in July from 10:00am to 12:00pm - Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center offers pony rides on Saturdays throughout the summer. $25 for each 15-minute ride. Register to select your spot.
Camp Ground Walking Tours - Tuesdays in July from 11:00am to 12:30pm - The 150-year-old colorful gingerbread cottages are a must-see in Oak Bluffs. Join a guided walking tour through the beautiful grounds of the MVCMA.
A Midsummer Night's Dream - Live Outdoors at the Tisbury Amphitheater - Tues, Thurs, Sat in July at 6:00pm - An outdoor production of Shakespeare's classic tale. Directed by MJ Bruder Munafo. Bring your lawn chairs, snacks and bug spray. This is a not to be missed island tradition.
Vineyard Artisans Summer Festival - Sundays and Thursdays in July from 10:00am to 2:00pm - A Vineyard summer tradition and the only weekly juried art show where the public can meet over 70 artisans and buy directly from them. Many demonstrations, weaving, fine furniture, pottery, stained glass, oil paintings, pastels, mixed media, sculpture, wampum jewelry, quilts, clothing, sea glass windows, handmade books and much more.
