  • Kayak and Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP) Quests - June 1st - June 8th from 9:00am to 3:30pm - Enjoy Sengekontacket Pond on this self-guided tour. Rhyming quest clues (think: treasure hunt!) will help you uncover the story of the pond's people, places, and wildlife. Single and double kayaks and two SUPs available; call to reserve for up to 2.5 hours; boats and SUPs must be returned by 3:30 pm.
  • Exhibit: The Extraordinary Life of Dorothy West - Throughout June from 10:00am to 5:00pm - Following her life from Boston to New York, Moscow, and Martha’s Vineyard, explore the story of Dorothy West, writer, editor, and youngest member of the Harlem Renaissance. Featuring never-before-seen photographs and objects, this exhibition offers a new look at the “best known unknown writer of her time” and the legacy she left behind.
  • Grace Church Lobster Rolls - Fridays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm - Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven will begin serving Lobster Rolls from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday nights beginning May 19. 
  • First Friday - Friday, June 2 at 4:00pm to 11:00pm - First Friday is an outdoor event in Vineyard Haven, Martha's Vineyard. We have music, art, and food, so stop by and check it out on the First Friday of each month June-October.
  • Moonrise Kayak Tours - Friday, June 2 at 6:30pm to 8:30pm - See Sengekontacket Pond in a new light - moonlight - as we celebrate each month's full moon. With a guide, kayak on the pond as the sunsets, stars twinkle, and the moon rises. Ages 14+ only
  • Irish Repertory Theatre’s The Smuggler - June 1st-3rd at 7:00pm - A charming Irish bartender living in a coastal town in New England spins a fierce and witty thriller in rhyme, about immigration, corruption, and the underside of the American dream. Martha's Vineyard Playhouse is proud to host the Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of this award-winning play by Ronán Noone, one of our favorite playwrights (The Blowin of Baile Gall, The Second Girl). Starring Michael Mellamphy.
  • Annual Cross-Island Hike - Saturday, June 3 at 8:00am - Each year since 1993, the land bank has observed National Trails Day — the first Saturday of June — by conducting a day-long hike across the island to expose people to the network of trails that connect the island’s many conservation lands and public properties. Usually the hike will include sections along dirt or paved roads, but sometimes may include shorelines, steep grades and sections of overgrown vegetation (possibly including poison ivy). Hikes sometimes include stretches across private properties with the generous permission of the owners for the day of the hike only.
  • Carnegie Tours: Historic Tours of Edgartown - Saturday, June 3 at 11:00am - The Carnegie Heritage Center’s Historic Tour is a 60-minute guided walking tour of Edgartown. Learn about the Island’s rich maritime history– from the nineteenth century to the present – as told through the lens of Vineyard Preservation Trust’s historic landmarks and other important sites along Edgartown Harbor. 
  • Take a Walk on The Wild Side - Saturday, June 3 at 2:00pm to 5:00pm - Mass Audubo's Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and Queer Hub MV invite you to "take a walk on the wild side." Participants from near and far will emerge from the blooming pollinator garden and delight with dance, music, performances, and so much more. Gather together to elevate and celebrate the world in all its rainbow colors.
  • Oak Bluffs Open Market: Sundays in the Park - Sundays in June from 10:00am to 2:00pm - Enjoy Sundays in the park by the harbor! Open Market is an ever- changing variety of locally grown produce, specialty foods, flowers, indie designers, artisans, antique and vintage dealers.  Live Music performed during the last 2 hours of the Market by John O’Toole.  
  • Sundays in the Park Concerts - Sundays in June from 5:30pm to 7:30pm - The Sundays In The Park Concerts at the Ocean Park Bandstand in Oak Bluffs will begin May 28 with John O’Toole. The concerts will take place on Sundays from May 28 to October 8.  The hours are  5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May through September and 5 to 7 p.m. in October.  
  • Polly Hill Arboretum Tour - Tuesdays and Thursdays in June from 9:00am to 10:00am - Learn about the people, plants and features of this beautiful historic and horticultural Vineyard attraction. The registered historic landmark has nationally and globally recognized plant collections that are well-suited ecologically to the Island climate and include a unique range from Island natives to globally threatened species being protected in our backyard!
  • Historic Cemetery Walking Tour with Tom Dresser - Saturday, June 10 at 9:00am - Join local historian Tom Dresser for a fun, informative and not-at-all-scary cemetery tour. We will meet outside at Pacific Avenue entrance (cemetery-facing side) of the Oak Bluffs library. The tour takes about an hour and is about a mile in distance.
  • West Tisbury Farmers Market - Saturdays & Wednesdays starting, June 10 from 9:00am to 12:00pm - Outdoor farmers market features locally grown produce and meat and locally made products. Restrooms and parking available. The market is dedicated to bringing local agricultural products to the people both living on and visiting the Island. The market was started in 1974 by a group of Island growers. 
  • Cape Pogue Discovery Tour - June 9th, 10th, and 16th from 10:00am to 11:30am - Explore Cape Poge’s magnificent barrier beach and wildlife refuge on an open-air, over-sand adventure. Learn about the rare and protected flora and fauna that make their home on the sandy shoreline, expansive salt marsh, beautiful salt pond, and unique colony of red cedars. Please dress appropriately for extended sun exposure (hat, sunglasses, layers, sunscreen, and water). Binoculars and cameras are encouraged. Tours last approximately 1.5 hours. 
  • Vineyard Artisans 26th Annual Summer Festival - Sundays starting June 11th from 10:00am to 2:00pm - A Vineyard Summer tradition and the only weekly juried art show where the public can meet more than 70 Island artisans and buy directly from them. Many demonstrations, weaving, fine furniture, pottery, stained glass, oil paintings, pastels, mixed media, sculpture, wampum jewelry, quilts, clothing, sea glass windows, handmade books and much more.
  • Blooming Art, 2023 - June 16th-18th at 10:00am - Blooming Art is the Martha's Vineyard Garden Club's biggest fundraiser of the year, and is modeled after the Boston Museum of Fine Arts  Art in Bloom show. The BMOFA's annual celebration of floral arrangements is inspired by the museum’s many masterpieces and Blooming Art event mirrors that Boston event. Ever since the early days of the MV Garden Club's Blooming Art event, the Club has transformed the Old Mill in West Tisbury into a gallery filled with the art of Vineyard artists displayed along with interpretive floral arrangements? created by our Garden Club members.
  •  'Round-the-Island Race - Saturday, June 17 at 8:00am - The Edgartown Yacht Club's Race Around Martha's Vineyard will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023.  The course around the Vineyard passes in sight of seven lighthouses of Cape Cod, Aquinnah, Tarpaulin Cove, Nobska, West Chop, East Chop and Edgartown. In the morning, the fleet sails between Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket along the east beach of Chapaquiddick and then in the open Atlantic Ocean with views of the south coast of the Vineyard.  In the afternoon, round the gorgeous cliffs of Aquinnah, the fleets sail up Vineyard Sound. 
  • Oak Bluffs Harbor Festival - Saturday, June 17th at 10:00am - Save the date for this annual festival taking place along the Oak Bluffs harbor.  Music, food, artisans and entertainment all day. Kick off the summer season with this Island tradition!
  • Amistad Ship Tours - June 17th and 18th from 10:00am to 4:00pm - Tour the Amistad! The schooner Amistad, a replica of the historic ship that became famous after a group of enslaved Africans led a successful revolt and won their freedom in the U.S. Supreme Court, will drop anchor at Martha’s Vineyard for Juneteenth weekend. 
  • The Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Cultural Festival - Saturday, June 17 at 12:30pm to 7:00pm - The Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Cultural Festival presented by Inkwell Haven Foundation in partnership with Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. Juneteenth Jubilee Festival kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with the Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony and leads into a full day of culture. Learn more about Martha’s Vineyard history; join for a fireside chat with Pulitzer Prize winner Nikole Hannah-Jones, and continue with cultural performances by Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Christian Sands; world-renowned actress Lynn Whitfield; founder of Rock Noire, musician/vocalist Grace Gibson; harpist Tulani, local performers Sean and Siren; and more. Juneteenth Jubilee Cultural Festival is free and open to all.
  • Juneteenth Gospel Brunch - Monday, June 19 at 10:00am - Join us at the Edgartown Yacht Club for the second annual Juneteenth Gospel brunch, honoring Captain William (Bill) Pinkney and featuring a special performance by Athene Wilson. Private tours on the Amistad will be available after brunch. 
  • FILMUSIC Festival - June 22nd-25th - The MV Film Society presents feature films and musical performances that celebrate the convergence of music, culture and film.  Specific dates and ticketing information will be available closer to the dates of the festival. Check mvfilmsociety.com
  • Tisbury Family Shellfishing Day - Saturday, June 24 from 9:00am to 12:00pm - The Tisbury Shellfish Dept. will host Family Shellfishing Day at the Lagoon Pond boat launch! No experience necessary, learn how to quahog, the importance of shellfish, ponds ecology, join local shellfishermen and learn how you can become good stewards of the pond. Free event!
  • Archaeology I.D. Day - Saturday, June 24 at 1:00pm to 3:00pm - The West Tisbury Library will host its fourth annual Archaeology I.D. Day. All are invited! Please bring any artifacts you may have discovered for expert identification and discussion. The archaeologists present will be happy to answer any questions about the archaeology of Martha’s Vineyard and about New England in general. There will also be informative displays to be viewed. On hand for the event will be archaeologists Jill Bouck, Richard Burt, Bill Moody, James Richardson, Duncan Caldwell and paleontologist Fred Hotchkiss.
  • Friday at Featherstone: Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish - Friday, June 30 at 6:30pm to 8:00pm - Featherstone will be hosting musical performances this summer outside on the Art Bar's deck (or outdoor stage). Enjoy music on our lawn while supporting musical artists and our nonprofit art center. Tickets are $20 per person with 50% of proceeds from each performance going to the musicians. ?
