- Vineyard Confections Spring Egg Event - Saturday, April 2nd & Sunday, April 3rd from 8:00am to 12:00pm - As a Happy Spring wish, Vineyard Confections will be placing/hiding handmade six-inch eggs all over the Island. - Art Exhibit: Walker T. Roman and Kristin Texeira at PathwaysARTS - Fridays & Saturdays, April 1-9 from 11:00am to 5:00pm - Walker T. Roman and Kristin Texeira share the PathwaysARTS Gallery with contemporary mixed media artworks, from 2011 to current work. Roman exhibits 12 works that illustrate the "complicated and shifting relationships between abstraction and representation". Texeira uses subtle shifts in colors or ranges of contrasting colors. She attempts to create the familiar, while simultaneously something entirely elusive and intangible, like a forgotten word on the tip of one's tongue. In-person viewing available at the gallery (9 State Road, Chilmark) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through April 24. Grab a friend and join us for our first-ever Island history trivia night! Take a quick look at our exhibits to get in the mood, then settle in to test your memory in our expertly-curated trivia test. Prizes awarded to the winners! Pre-registration is required and space is limited; fee includes materials and two drink tickets. Ages 21+ with ID. MVM Members: $15; Non-Members: $20. - VCS Earth Day Beach Clean Up - Saturday, April 23 at 10:00am to 12:00pm - Community action and good clean fun! It's the annual Earth Day beach clean up brought to you by the Vineyard Conservation Society. Join the island-wide effort to clean up our beaches! Take a walk along our shoreline collecting trash along the way. Registration not required; check in when you arrive.
- Wild Edibles with Kristina Hook at Felix Neck - Sunday, April 24 at 11:00am to 12:00pm - Foraging and gathering were a way of survival for Indigenous peoples and continue to aid food security today. Hike past streams, forest, and coastline of Felix Neck. Kristina Hook, an Aquinnah Wampanoag tribal elder born and raised on Martha's Vineyard, works to share her knowledge from growing up gathering wild foods and encourages everyone to keep the tradition going for future generations. - Arbor Day Celebration at Polly Hill Arboretum - Friday, April 29 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm - Join us for a celebration of trees at the Polly Hill Arboretum in honor of Arbor Day. - Spring into History at Cooke House and Legacy Gardens - Saturdays in April from 12:00pm to 4:00pm - Drop by the Cooke House and Legacy Gardens in Edgartown to watch the learning loop living exhibit emerge from its winter hibernation, chat with a museum educator about historical horticulture and enjoy a simple garden-inspired take-home craft.
- Alpaca Walk & Talk at Island Alpaca - Daily at 11:00am and 2:00pm - Walking with alpaca is a way to learn more about how gentle alpacas truly are. A wonderful experience for all ages. Every participant will learn the basics of handling an alpaca safely as well as where alpacas come from and why they are important to us. One can see how sweet and gentle they are by interacting with them, and literally get your hands on them to see how luxurious, and how soft their fleece is.
