We will also give a brief presentation about the Ag Society's mission and future. Please bring a dish highlighting local food to share, as well as your own dishware, utensils, and drinks. - Shenandoah Open House - Thursday, February 1 at 5:30pm to 6:30pm - Come join us for an Open House and learn about opportunities to come sailing aboard Shenandoah this summer in her 61st season! We welcome families, individuals, and kids, to come learn all about our upcoming voyages. We will be available to answer questions, walk you through the registration process, and share information about what our trips have to offer.
- The Friday Reset - Fridays in February from 5:00pm to 8:00pm - Join Martha's Vineyard Museum each Friday this winter for an evening of board games, crafts, puzzles, light bites, and a special featured activity each week. Whether you're crafting, playing games, or enjoying live performances, there's a way for everyone to unwind. Savor a complimentary light bite and beverage, immerse yourself in our exhibitions, and maybe even win a prize! Admission: $20 MVM members, $25 non-members. Admission each week includes a light snack from Aquila, admission to the featured activity, a craft (including materials), and the opportunity to explore the museum.

Whether you’re single, looking to meet new friends, or simply want to enjoy a fun and unique Valentine’s season event, this gathering is the perfect time to connect, socialize, and celebrate the spirit of friendship. Our interactive ice-breaking activities will make it easy for you to strike up conversations and connect with fellow attendees. After a hike and exploration of Long Point’s wooded trails, we will enjoy a beach bonfire with s’mores and more opportunities to get to know each other. Pre-registration required. - Twelfth Night Thursday, February 15 through Saturday, February 17 at 7:00pm & Sunday, February 18 at 2:00pm - Performers from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School will transport audience members to the magical island of Illyria during their upcoming production of William Shakespeare’s romantic comedy Twelfth Night. The students will perform a musical adaptation whose text was conceived by Kwame Kwei-Armah and Shaina Taub, with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub. Brooke Ditchfield directs, with musical direction by Abigail Chandler, choreography by Ken Romero and a live pit band directed by Stephanie Aurenz.
- Sheep Shearing Shindig - Saturday, February 17 at 11:00am to 1:00pm - We are celebrating the kick off of Feb-ewe-ary with a Sheep Shearing Shindig. Come on out to the Animal Barn, have a cup of hot cider and learn all about shearing and sheep fiber as the sheep of Slough Farm get their annual trim before lambing starts in March. We are so happy to have our special guest shearer Siri Swanson from Yankee Rock Farm, who is also a shepherd, butcher and fiber enthusiast, on Island all weekend to share her wealth of sheep and fiber knowledge. This event is co-hosted by Slough Farm and the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society.
- Artisanal Breads of the World with Vineyard Baker - Saturday, February 3 at 10:00am to 12:00pm - Travel the world through the lens of bread! Join Teri Culetto for these hands-on, bi-weekly Saturday morning workshops to learn the art of bread. Each participant will take home a loaf of their own making. On Feb. 3, we will make Kolace sweet pastry breads. Pre-registration is required for all FARM Institute cooking classes. Cost: $36 for members, $45 for non-members. - Sheepskin Tanning Workshop with Bethany Cantwell - Saturday, February 3 at 10:00am to 12:00pm - In this weekend-long workshop, participants will learn how to tan a Slough Farm Tunis sheepskin from start to finish using natural methods (brains!) and traditional, hand-hewn tools. Led by Bethany Cantwell of Aurora Blue Farm. Lunch will be provided! Registration is required, and the class has a $100 fee. - Big Night Out - Saturday, February 3 at 6:00pm to 9:00pm - Join us at the best party of the off-season for an unforgettable evening of dancing and fun at the 27th annual Big Night Out fundraiser hosted by Vineyard Montessori School. On Saturday, Feb. 3 from 6 to 9 p.m., the Grange Hall will come alive with live music by The Dukes of Circuit Ave and an incredible silent auction, featuring generous donations from island businesses. Savor delectable bites, enjoy the open bar, and dance the night away, all in support of the Island's largest childcare provider.
- MV Land Bank Guided Walk at Pennywise Preserve - Sunday, February 4 at 1:00pm - Join the Land Bank staff on a guided walk at Pennywise Preserve in Edgartown. The preserve consists of 175 acres located between the neighborhoods along the Vineyard Haven and West Tisbury Roads were purchased cooperatively by the land bank and the town of Edgartown. The significant portion — 118.7 consolidated acres of frost bottom and scrub oak — is under land bank care, via a conservation restriction from the town to the land bank. The walk will be given rain or shine and will last approximately 2 hours.
- Red House Movie Night Fundraiser - Sunday, February 4 at 4:00pm - Join The Red House at the MV Film Center for a movie night fundraiser. We will screen the documentary The Wisdom of Trauma and a short panel discussion will follow the movie. The Wisdom of Trauma features renowned physician and bestselling author Dr Gabor Maté. Dr. Maté explores the interconnected epidemics of anxiety, chronic illness, and substance abuse. The film takes viewers on a journey with Dr. Maté as he delves into the profound connection between illness, addiction, trauma, and societal issues. Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a short panel discussion featuring members of the Island Counseling Center. Proceeds from the $20 ticket price will directly support the Red House's mission to provide peer-to-peer recovery support services to individuals aged 18 and older as well as, friends and family affected by addiction in the Martha’s Vineyard community. The Red House is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages and supports various paths of recovery from both behavioral issues and substance use disorder.

An exciting collaboration - Offering of Music and Light at 5 p.m., a short reception, followed by Mark Lovewell and Molly Conole's live Facebook broadcast of Sunday at Sea from 7 to 8 p.m. in the sanctuary. A fun evening to chase away the winter blahs.
- Valentine's Cookies with Bryanna from Morning Glory Farm - Thursday, February 8 at 5:30pm to 7:30pm - Join us for this sweet class! The class will cover making sugar cookie dough, tips and tricks for making royal icing, and working with it! Each participant will take home ten cookies. As your cookies will still be wet, please bring a Tupperware container or rimmed baking sheet to take them home with you. If you cannot do so, or forget, we will provide a bakery box. Pre-registration is required for all Farm Institute cooking classes. - Full Moon Owl Prowl - Friday, February 23 at 6:00pm to 7:00pm - Hoo's out there? Owls silently fly through our Island woods and fields. Head to Felix Neck for a bright moon stroll to look, listen, and learn about these nocturnal birds.
- Exhibit: Clifford: Our Big Red Dog - Daily in February at the MV Museum - Come and play with Clifford and Emily Elizabeth! Clifford the Big Red Dog has been delighting readers for over 60 years. This exhibit invites children and adults alike to play, explore, and learn about Clifford and the man who brought him to life, Norman Bridwell, who called the Vineyard home for over four decades.
- Winter Walk: Scavenger Hunt for Kids - Daily in Feb from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm - Winter Walk: Come in to the West Tisbury Library anytime during open hours in February for a winter walk scavenger hunt. Search outdoors for different items, and come inside to the Children’s Room for your prize when you’ve finished! Free and open to the public.
- Alpaca Walk and Talk - Daily in Feb from 10:30 am to 11:00 am - Walking with alpaca is a way to learn more about how gentle they truly are. A wonderful experience for all ages. Every participant will learn the basics of handling an alpaca safely as well as where they come from and why they are important. One can see how sweet and gentle they are by interacting with them, and literally get your hands on them to see how luxurious and soft their fleece is.
